Produced by John Marshall Media, the supernatural thriller features duet narration by Ian Bedford and Chelsea Hatfield
HOUSTON, TX, UNITED STATES, October 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Author E.A. Williams has announced that book one of her eponymous supernatural thriller series, “The Line of Tepes,” will debut as an audiobook on October 31, 2026. Produced by John Marshall Media and narrated by Ian Bedford and Chelsea Hatfield, the Halloween release brings the opening novel in Williams’ vampire thriller series to audio with a duet performance.
Set in Houston, the novel follows Emma King, whose grief over her grandmother’s death is compounded by an attack from her cult-leader mother on the night of the wake. Pursued by death-worshipping followers known as the Order, Emma turns to a mysterious stranger she met in the family graveyard. His name is Vlad, and his fortress-like apartment above the Houston skyline offers refuge — along with a revelation: the monsters her mother warned about are real. As the Order closes in, Emma must decide whether the stranger offering protection is someone she can rely on.
“When I heard Ian and Chelsea’s auditions, I knew right away that they would be perfect,” Williams said. “Novel writing is a pretty singular endeavor, so when I get to collaborate with such talented people, I jump at it.”
Ian Bedford is best known for his voiceover work in the popular Red Dead video game franchise, while Chelsea Hatfield is one of the go-to narrators for books by New York Times bestselling romance authors Carolyn Brown and Mia Sheridan.
For Williams, adapting the book meant entrusting characters she had lived with for years to a production team. She worked with John Marshall Media to review the manuscript, discuss where the narrators would hand off and explain how she wanted the story to sound.
“It took a bit of trust on my end to hand over my book, but the result is incredible,” she said. “They embraced the characters and story with such clear intention; it really came alive in a whole new way.”
Williams cites “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Dracula” as influences on the series. Readers have also drawn comparisons to Westerns and “John Wick,” or remarked on the humor in her portrayal of vampires. The audiobook gives her another opportunity to learn how audiences respond to the story.
Audio’s ability to reach more readers also carries personal meaning for the author. Her grandfather, an avid reader of mysteries and thrillers, lost his sight as he grew older. When Williams’ mother brought him a boombox and a James Patterson audiobook on CD, he could enjoy books again.
“The world of stories opened back up to him,” Williams recalled. “Audiobooks are a door without a lock that takes you to any world you want to go to.”
Williams plans audiobook editions of the next two series installments, “The Fall of Kings” and “The Path of Blood,” and is currently writing the fourth book.
