NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI) today released its 2025 Sustainability Report, Energizing a Sustainable Future, outlining achievements that help shape a safer, more resilient energy environment for the customers and communities we serve.
In 2025, NiSource continued to connect day-to-day operations with long-term sustainability goals to drive value for customers and shareholders. Among the key achievements, we reduced environmental impacts across our operating footprint, celebrated a key safety milestone, and launched an innovative business model that protects customers and supports large-load energy growth.

NiSource reported the following achievements in 2025 across environmental, social and governance priorities, including:
- Earned a place on the Dow Jones Best-in-Class Indices for the 12th consecutive year and reaffirmation to the FTSE4Good Index Series
- Achieved top-quintile ratings on average across sustainability raters, including an MSCI AAA ESG rating for the fifth consecutive year
- Nearly doubled renewable energy storage capacity with the installation of more than 1,500 MW of solar, wind and battery storage capacity
- Received regulatory approval for an innovative business model that supports responsible energy growth and will return more than $1 billion to customers
- Launched Project ReSource, a company-wide initiative to reduce waste and create value through circular economy practices
- Recorded zero serious employee injuries or fatalities, reflecting NiSource’s deep commitment to protecting employees
- Expanded Environmental Action Grants throughout our operating region, funding programs for habitat conservation and restoration, education, and outdoor recreation
