Former Fitch Ratings Analyst Turns Fintech Entrepreneur After Advising on Billion-Dollar Restructurings
NEW YORK - Jan 21, 2025 - Sebastian Gallic, a former senior credit analyst at Fitch Ratings and restructuring advisor at M3 Partners, has transitioned from Wall Street to entrepreneurship, launching a fintech venture focused on bringing institutional-grade transparency to retail investors.
Gallic's career began at Fitch Ratings, where he spent over four years covering a $20+ billion portfolio across aerospace, transportation, and asset-backed securities. Rising from Analyst to Senior Analyst, he initiated coverage on more than a dozen issuers and developed expertise in complex structured financings, including enhanced equipment trust certificates (EETCs) and aircraft securitizations.
"At Fitch, I learned how to evaluate risk and see through complexity," said Gallic. "That skillset became the foundation for everything I've built since."
From Credit Analysis to Crisis Advisory
After Fitch, Gallic joined M3 Partners, a restructuring and special situations advisory firm, where he advised creditors and stakeholders on some of the most complex in-court and out-of-court restructurings in recent years. His work spanned valuation analysis, litigation support, asset recovery strategies, and maximizing creditor recoveries across both traditional and emerging markets.
"Restructuring teaches you what happens when transparency fails," Gallic said. "You see the consequences—investors who trusted the wrong people, systems that obscured rather than revealed. It changes how you think about building financial products."
A New Chapter in Fintech
Gallic is now channeling his experience into building technology that addresses what he sees as a fundamental gap in retail investing: the lack of verifiable track records and transparent performance data.
"The tools available to everyday investors haven't kept pace with what institutions have access to," said Gallic. "I spent years analyzing complex financial structures for sophisticated investors. Now I'm focused on leveling that playing field."
A graduate of Rutgers Business School with a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Gallic earned Dean's List honors across all semesters and received multiple academic scholarships. He is based in New York.
