Happiness Studies Academy Launches Online Professional Studies PhD Program at Centenary University
NEW YORK - July 8, 2025 - The Happiness Studies Academy, an institution of higher learning dedicated to bringing happiness to the world, today announced that it is launching a PhD program in Happiness Studies. The fully accredited doctoral program has been approved for student registration in partnership with Centenary University, a liberal arts and professional studies institution. The program will debut on August 25, 2025, with an application deadline of August 1, 2025. Students with a master’s degree in any subject are eligible to enroll.
The Happiness Studies Academy was co-founded by Professor Tal Ben-Shahar, a credentialed opinion leader in the field of happiness studies. Dr. Ben-Shahar is a best-selling author, lecturer, and pioneering scholar. His work blends the fields of psychology, philosophy, education, and science, exploring the art and science of “human flourishing.” Dr. Ben-Shahar developed the vision of happiness studies through teaching Harvard University’s extremely popular Positive Psychology and Psychology of Leadership courses.

The PhD curriculum explores policy, education, business, wellness, and psychology. The program’s four-year course comprises 18 Modules, for a total of 66 credits. Tuition is $66,000, which covers everything for the doctoral program.
